MIRI, March 31 (Bernama) -- The Sarawak United People`s Party (SUPP) hasproposed that students from Chinese independent schools be exempted from payingexamination fees when sitting for the Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) and SijilPelajaran Malaysia (SPM).
SUPP president Datuk Seri Peter Chin Fah Kui said currently, the feeexemption was for government school students while private and independentschools needed to pay RM65 for PMR, and more than RM100 for SPM, depending onthe number of subjects taken.
"The education ministry should seriously consider this matter," hetold reporters after the party`s meet-the-people session here Saturday.
